Many international companies do employ employees in Germany either directly in a branch or via affiliates. In particular in matrix organisations reporting lines may run cross boarder and outside Germany with individual being responsible for issues in Germany but sitting abroad. This often results in not just legal but partially also cultural misunderstandings and in light of this challenges occur when working together.
