Hintergrund

Der Ausbildung zum/r Kunst- und Gestaltungstherapeuten/-in liegt ein integraler Ansatz zugrunde. Geht man davon aus, dass jede Art kreativ-künstlerischen Ausdrucks des Menschen einem grundlegenden Prozess folgt, nämlich der Inspiration auf ihrem Weg zur Verstofflichung eine Form zu geben, sind auch in Fragen der kreativtherapeutischen Anwendung dieser Ausdrucksmöglichkeiten keine Grenzen gesetzt.

Der Gestaltungsbegriff ist in der Regel untermauert durch tiefenpsychologische Ansätze, die auch der Kunsttherapie zugrunde liegen. Das Gestalten (z. B. mit Farben oder Ton) wird in dem Kontext als Prozess der Formgebung aufgefasst, der sich mit allgemeinen therapeutischen, psychologischen und psychoanalytischen Objektbeziehungs- und Ich-Theorien parallelisieren lässt und darüber hinaus diese auch empirisch bestätigt. Dabei geht die Kunst- und Gestaltungstherapie davon aus, dass die gestaltete Form Aspekte unbewusster Prozesse des/der Gestaltenden in der therapeutisch begleiteten Selbsterfahrung erlebbar und durch die stoffliche Form sichtbar machen kann. Derartige Ansätze finden sich vor allem in der Psychodynamik C. G. Jungs.

Die Kunst- und Kreativitätstherapie ist ein therapeutisches Verfahren, das sowohl in Kliniken als auch in Sozialen Einrichtungen und in Praxen meist in Kombination mit anderen Therapieformen angeboten wird. Sie basiert auf der Erkenntnis, dass durch den künstlerischen Ausdruck eine heilende Wirkung entstehen kann. Dabei geht es nicht darum Kunstwerke zu erschaffen, sondern einen Zugang zu seiner inneren Welt zu bekommen. Das Kunstwerk wird in der Kunsttherapie zum Spiegel der Seele. Seelische Prozesse, die noch verborgen in uns schlummern, können durch die Kraft der künstlerischen Entfaltung angestoßen werden und zur Erforschung unseres individuellen Seelenlebens führen.
