The goal of the Apache Spark Basics course is to provide participants  with a solid understanding of Apache Spark and its fundamental concepts.  By the end of the course, participants should be able to understand the  challenges of big data processing and the advantages of Spark. They  will gain comprehension of Spark's architecture and its components, such  as the driver, executor, and cluster manager. Participants will also  learn how to work with Resilient Distributed Datasets (RDDs) and perform  various transformations and actions on them. Additionally, they will  acquire knowledge of Spark Streaming for real-time data processing and  gain the ability to integrate Spark with other technologies like Flume,  Kafka, and Cassandra. Through hands-on exercises using PySpark,  participants will develop practical skills and gain the confidence to  effectively utilize Apache Spark for big data processing and analytics  tasks.

Overview

This course is intended for IT professionals tasked with administering an IBM Spectrum Scale storage cluster in environments running Linux and AIX nodes. The course includes information on installing, configuring, and monitoring an IBM Spectrum Scale cluster. Many Spectrum Scale features are described in lecture materials and then implemented in lab exercises. These features include: Storage management, high availability options, cluster management, and information lifecycle management (ILM) tools.

Note: Although the lab environment is running the Linux operating system, the differences in Spectrum Scale compared with an AIX environment are minor. Therefore, the skills acquired during the course can be applied in both Linux and AIX environments.

This course offers solution architects, data stewards, and data quality analysts more experience with IBM Knowledge Catalog for IBM Cloud Pak for Data. You learn to tune and customize governance workflows and artifacts to enhance the quality, findability, and protection of data. You gain skills in enriching metadata, building data quality rules, customizing asset properties, and configuring reports and dashboards.

Overview

In this instructor-led course with hands-on exercises, students will take on the pivotal role of an administrator of IBM OpenPages, an integrated environment designed to manage governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) challenges across the enterprise. Learn how to perform administrative tasks within the IBM OpenPages platform, such as configuring users, profiles, roles, object types, fields, views, security, and workflows. This course also provides an opportunity to practically implement these tasks in a typical business scenario for an administrator' s role. For the hands-on exercises, students will have access to a lab environment equipped with IBM Cloud Pak for Data and a pre-installed version of OpenPages 9.0, ensuring an immersive learning experience.
