This course provides database administrators and IT security professionals with the knowledge and practical skills needed to implement and manage robust security in IBM Db2 v12.1 environments. Learners will explore the fundamentals and advanced concepts of Db2 security, including authentication, authorization, and privilege hierarchies. 

This course covers key topics such as configuring access controls, utilizing database roles and authorities, managing data encryption for secure communications, and applying advanced security features like Row and Column Access Control (RCAC), Label-Based Access Control (LBAC), and Trusted Contexts for multi-tiered architectures. 

Additionally, students will examine Db2’s built-in auditing capabilities to monitor compliance and ensure secure database operations.

Immer mehr Unternehmen vergeben IT-Services an einen oder mehrere Provider. Obwohl die organisatorische Ausgestaltung des Outsourcings gut vorbereitet wird, treten in der Umsetzung oft Probleme auf: Der Provider hält entweder die Vorgaben nicht ein oder bereits abgesprochene Ziele werden nicht wunschgemäß umgesetzt. Dies beinhaltet neben organisatorischen Aspekten insbesondere die Entwicklung einer Kooperationsbeziehung, die es ermöglicht, Konflikte mit dem Provider im Vorfeld zu vermeiden, bzw. im Bedarfsfall schnell und konstruktiv zu lösen. Der ITProvidermanager nimmt hier eine zentrale Rolle ein: Er hält alle Fäden in der Hand, wenn es darum geht, Sach- und Beziehungsebene der Zusammenarbeit effektiv und erfolgreich zu steuern.

Learners will also explore troubleshooting techniques using diagnostic logs and system views.

Hands-on lab exercises throughout the course allow learners to apply concepts by performing real-world tasks such as creating databases, configuring automatic storage, running utilities like RUNSTATS and REORG, and executing recovery procedures.

By the end of the course, learners will be proficient in administering Db2 v12.1 systems and confidently handling routine operations, performance optimization, and recovery scenarios.
